If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send: typically your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use it only to read and reply to your message and to act on your feedback, for example correcting an article. Please do not include sensitive personal information in emails to us.
Information Collected Automatically
Apart from Google Analytics described below, we do not operate tracking pixels or fingerprinting, and we do not collect profiles of visitors. Like essentially all websites, however, this site is served through hosting infrastructure that may automatically record standard technical logs. Depending on the provider, such logs can include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages requested, timestamps, and approximate location derived from IP address. These records are generated by our hosting provider, not by us, and we do not use them to profile visitors. Retention of such logs is controlled by the hosting provider.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We do not set cookies ourselves. The Google Analytics service sets first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to recognize browsers across visits and produce aggregate visitor statistics; you can disable or delete these cookies in your browser. We use one item of browser local storage: a key named theme, which stores whether you chose light or dark mode so the site remembers your preference on your next visit. This preference stays in your browser; it is not transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. We use no session storage and no third-party cookies.
